Who attends
IAUA is the only national association focused solely on property insurance appraisal as an ADR mechanism, and it certifies CPIA/CPIU/CPAU appraisers and umpires. Attendees are senior appraisers, umpires, public adjusters and both policyholder and carrier attorneys - exactly the people who resolve disputed first-party claims. Small rooms (40-60 seats) but unusually high seniority per attendee.

Directory notes
Same curriculum as the San Antonio edition (amount of loss and dispute resolution, legal issues in appraisal, policy changes such as roof schedules and cosmetic damage, certification class and exam). Cancellation policy: full refund/transfer more than 30 days out; 30-8 days refund minus $100 or full credit; 7-3 days $100 credit; 2 days or less no refund. Certification must be renewed by re-attending at least once every three years; non-members may attend and sit the exam but must join within six months to receive certification; Certified Appraiser status must be held six months before sitting the Umpire exam.
